Jean-François Peters

Jean-François Peters qualified as a Master of Law from the Université Catholique de Louvain in 1990. As a conscript, he served as a reserve officer with the Belgian Navy in 1991. Following a short spell as a legal consultant for an industry association, he started his career as a lawyer with the Antwerp bar in 1992. In 1993, he obtained a special Master’s Degree in Maritime Science from Antwerp University and enrolled in the Maritime Law Short Course at the University of Southampton. In 1995, he obtained a Master of Laws in Commercial Law (specialisation: Shipping Law) from the University of Cape Town.

He has been working for Marcon & Rubens since 2002.

He is a member of the Belgian Association of Maritime Law.
